Blood donation rules change

From today the rules on blood donation have expanded to allow more people than ever to save lives by donating some of their blood.

We have all seen tragic scenes that have happened followed by a call for more people to donate blood. We have all heard about blood banks running low on blood that is vital to save lives. But for so long, many people have been unable to answer those calls.

Today that has changed – now that he is finally able to Brandon has jumped at the opportunity and registered to donate blood for the first time! Only 1 week to go until the appointment.

Leeds Pride 2019

Today, Liberal Democrats from Headingley, Leeds and beyond marched at Leeds Pride to say Bollocks to Bigotry. It was great to hear people in the crowd shouting back “We love Jo Swinson” and “Bollocks to Brexit”.

Leeds Pride 2018

Liberal Democrats from across Leeds and beyond marched as usual this year in the city’s LGBT+ Pride Parade. After this year’s London Pride was hi-jacked by an anti-trans group, we were pleased to be able to show our support for our trans siblings by carrying a trans pride banner provided by LGBT+ Lib Dems. They are currently campaigning to ensure that the government’s consultation on the Gender Recognition Act leads to a quicker, simpler and less costly process for trans people to secure gender recognition.
